    Developing the vision of the Tully Sugar Industry : Final report CG002

    The project was successful in involving the community and industry sectors in a project which addressed the viability of an important industry facing a crisis. Community involvement provided an increased level of understanding of issues, and a recognition that all sectors needed to work closer together on issues, which were within their control.

    Review of investment in travel and learning opportunity projects

    The Sugar Research and Development Corporation (SRDC) engaged Hassall & Associates to undertake a review of the travel and learning opportunity projects (TLOP) funded by SRDC since 2002/03. This program provides the opportunity for industry members to apply for funds (up to $5,000 for an individual or $10,000 for a group) to undertake a targeted activity or travel, in order to build their capacity for leadership, learning and/or change. The review was undertaken over the period November 2006 to April 2007 by means of a desktop review of proposals and reports, a survey and interviews of project recipients, case studies with other participants, and interviews and focus groups with a range of other industry stakeholders.
