dc.description.abstractBSES provides a quarantine service primarily for sugarcane plant breeding, allowing safe intrastate and international exchange of germplasm. The aim of this project was to develop or obtain, and implement in quarantine, diagnostic tests for pathogens of key quarantine diseases of sugarcane. Important diseases include ratoon stunting disease, Fiji disease, sugarcane mosaic, leaf scald, maize and sugarcane streak, white leaf and grassy shoot.
